How is the social life? What cities are nearby?

Anyone know how good premeds usually do in medical school placement/MCAT performance?

Will I get in :stuck_out_tongue: (sorry I had to sneak that in)

What are my chances from OOS to the college of natural sciences? Also, does UT have an honors program? What are my chances for that?

thanks

IN SUMMARY: I should finish high school with around 3.75 or 3.8 UW GPA, but I’ll do what ever I can to prevent that from happening. If I go down in flames, then I’ll end up with a 3.7.

*Right now I get about a 1920-2050 on the SAT, 28-30 on ACT according to Practice Tests for SAT, and the PLAN (it’s like the PSAT for SAT except the ACT version) on ACT, but I’m shooting for at least a 2100 on the SAT and 32 on the ACT. Don’t count on me getting a 2100 or a 32 because its not going to happen as far as I can tell right now

your stats are fine. I'll answer the questions to the best of my ability (I'm also an applicant this year, this is info gathered personally)

1) Classes range dramatically in sizes. Freshman year you'd take a lot of core classes that are generally taken by a majority of the freshman year's population. ie. some classes if i were to guess like gen chemistry would be taken in a big auditorium style with 200-400 students. As the years progress after freshman year they drop to 10-30 students per class and are known to go much lower.

2) The social life? at UF? Let's just put it this way. A few years back the gator growl (UF's pep rally for homecoming) was so loud, a town nearby recorded the cheers and celebration as an EARTHQUAKE. So yes, UF is ranked as one of the most social schools in the country. Although the area SURROUNDING UF (gainesville itself) is a "small" town, its a college town. It feels like 3/4 of the population are UF students are parties happen on campus, frat houses, local bars, etc

3) There was a stat online about how many ivy league schools accepted UF med school applicants and it was fairly high. Can't get into specifics tho, sorry.

4) Again, you'll get in. Apply ED/Summer B?

You have an excellent shot of getting in. Check out this website.

http://www.admissions.ufl.edu/ugrad/

by linking that i surfed UF's web for another half hour. thanks for making me tweak out -_-

you remind me of myself, i 'm already stressing law school and i just got in to college. this level of anticipation will be your down fall, you as i did are going to be sooooooooo focused on the future that the present will pass you by and sla you across the face, with B'S.. Take it easy, relax and don't worry on whether or not Uf will accept TWO YEARS from now. Things drastically change, take UF's mi range GPA from 3.8 to 4.0, that's insane, to have that increase in just on year. Therefore it is wayyyyy too soon to project your admissions. Yet again I'm not a admission officer, but just chill-out, study hard you'll be fine.As long as you concentrate on NOW.

I understand ya, but you gotta remember that while an undergrad, your grades will follow. As a high school student, once I'm in my grades are wiped after the year ends and I start fresh. So in a way, there is no now
