As a mother of a Mount Holyoke student I have been very happy with the quality of her education. She has been challenged and supported at the same time. Mount Holyoke women are well prepared. I strongly urge young women wanting an outstanding education to explore Mt. Holyoke.

As a student, I too have been happy with the quality of education. :)

OOh...thank you shiblet and mtholyoke2010 for starting up this thread!! From what I know of MHC and what i've seen during my tour this summer, MHC seems like a really amazing place to be with a spectacular education. I loved it and i'm applying this year and hopefully i'll be admitted! Do you both have anything to say about what makes MHC so special and what your personal experiences have been like with the school? mtholyoke2010, what do you do on your spare time up at MHC and how was it getting used to college life? Shiblet, what can you say for your daughter? What does she love about the school?

My daughter is spending her junior year abroad and is enjoying the experience. Mt. Holyoke provides support through its study abroad program. Getting use to Mt. Holyoke was a bit of a challenge for her. We live in the southwest and the climate/people were different. She made the adjustment well and has enjoyed the academic experience. She has also enjoyed the diverse student body. For a more varied social life she and her friends went to Amherst and Boston. While Mt. Holyoke is a challenging academic school it also a caring school. When her grandfather died last year the school supported her through that trying time. I doubt that many other school would have been so good.

Another Mount Holyoke mother here to give a positive review! My daughter is a sophomore and has found challenging academics, wonderful, engaging opportunities and a supportive environment.

Shiblet, I agree...young women looking for an outstanding educational experience should explore all Mount Holyoke has to offer.

Thanks so much for your reply. I would like to encourage other parents and especially current Moho students to speak out for the school. The Smith site has many proud parents and students. That type of positive press needs to happen at
this site.

D was just named a Sarah Williston Scholar (top 15%). Now if MHC could only be a little more prompt about notifying our local newspaper. Since MHC has no Dean's List, no one in our town knows how well she's done there - unless I tell them!

Congratulations on your daughter's honor!

Go to this site: Mount Holyoke College: Office of Communications
and send an e-mail to one of the media relations people. Tell them how thrilled you are about your daughter's honor, ask them if they have a release being sent out about Sara Williston scholars....and send them the name and address of your local paper.

Not only does it give you a "bragging" opportunity, but it's wonderful (and relatively inexpensive) PR for the school.

Congratulations on your daughter's accomplishment as well. My daughter is a first year at Mt. Holyoke and we received a copy of the press release sent to the local paper announcing her attendance. It was never published, possibly because there were probably 4 other nearly identical releases since 4 from our town(Concord NH) are also new students.I might re-send a copy of the release myself. Our sports section also had a note about a young lady from Concord being on the soccer team that looked like it was sent by the athletic dept.Your daughter's accomplishment(congratulations again,I'd be thrilled)is certainly noteworthy and a good opportunity for the school to get it's name out. Don't be bashful about sending something to the paper yourself.

Congratulations Another NJ Mom...what a wonderful honor!

Congratulations. Your daughter has worked very hard for this honor and it should be noticed.

Congratulations!! Hard work shouldn't go unnoticed. Is she were my daughter, I'd have the world and his wife informed! You must be so proud!
