Quarter Vs. Semester System

Which system is better in your opinion? I'm going to be a pre med student if that makes any difference. Which one is more manageable? Thanks!(:

I think I would do better under the Quarter system. I like having a course “split” in to parts since that gives you the flexibility to retake a single part if you do horrific and there is also the possibility that there will be less covered on tests and quizzes. The main one for me is that I won’t get lazy in the middle and start slacking off so with a shorter period I’ll have less time to get bored and neglect the course.

I’m on the semester system, but sometimes I wish I were on the quarter system. I took two English classes in a quarter time frame and loved it. I prefer a more accelerated pace in my studies, but at the same time, I like being able to take my time with a subject. Either one is good, it just depends on how you want your college life to be.

I’m on a quarter system, but I prefer the semester system (what my community college had) . I learn things at a much slower rate than my peers, so being on the quarter system doesn’t really help me at all, especially when it takes me a long time to grasp concepts that others immediately understand in lecture. When I was on the semester system, I could still focus on really old concepts and not fall behind at the same time. On the quarter system, if you’re not a quick learner and it takes a really long time for you to finally understand something, you’re gonna fall behind really fast.
