How is the queer scene at Amherst? Specifically for lesbians? Any input would be great!

While visiting Amherst a last month, I specifically asked about the LGBT community and Amherst’s culture regarding acceptance. I was told that the student body is quite open-minded and the LGBT community is quite active.
I also contacted an organization, link here

Here is an excerpt of a very helpful email I received in return:
“The Pride Alliance is a members organization that has weekly discussion based meetings. There are around 30 to 40 of us, and it is open to everyone. We often host events. For example, this weekend, we have a Trans Awareness event with the 5-College Consortium with Girl Scout Cookies. We also have the “Gay Amherst Party,” or GAP that is often themed and always a lot of fun!
There are also leadership positions such as the Logistics Co-Chair, the Activities Co-Chair, Treasurer, Publicity Coordinator, Political Coordinator, and more. Recently, the political coordinators actually wrote a petition that addressed Gender-neutral housing. Because of their hard work, we now have gender neutral housing here at Amherst!”
