Quest Scholars ?

Anyone know about this and about how hard it is to get in ?

I know this is a pretty prestigious summer program ... ne ways my stats:
HS Junior
All honors classes etc... AP Calculus, APus hist, AP engl, AP Econ... basically all ap classes offered to juniors (except spanish but that wasn't possible cuz i'm in german )
Sat I : single sitting : 1420, combined : 1460
GPA UW: 3.8 W: 4.3
PSAT : 207

*Robotics Team Freshmen / Soph/ Junior year...
* Varsity Swim team Junior Year
in my essays i wrote about all the things i've learned working on a team building robots, in the other one I wrote about swim team and how hard it was to start at the bottom of the ladder and be really slow at swimming etc... but working hard, I also wrote the other one about like how my parents molded me into who I am by always answering my questions etc... and about myself as a kid always researching birds, building aerodynamic/lifting body bottle rockets etc...

I also wrote about my hobbies :R/C airplanes, Electric Guitar, Swimming, Skateboarding etc. etc...

are you low-income? that seems to be the highest criterion.

yeap, low income is the #1 consideration for this program.

yes... i guess so... also i have a lot of family members too...

my sister applied for the quest scholar, and she got rejected.
she has better stats than you (no offense) and is one of the top writers in the county.. the reason that she got rejected was that there were so many people that deserved it more than she did; one of the applicants that got accepted grew up with no parents and maintained an excellent GPA while working many hours a week to support her siblings -- those are the type of people that Quest is looking for.

however,
if you are that type of person, then go ahead, im sure you will get in.

hey..i applied last year with worse stats and I made it all the way to the final round and then got rejected...so top 50 out of the 22 they select...it really hurt...but the stats really dont matter that much with Quest esp SAT scores...GPA does matter though...neways I didnt even put my SAT score..so dont worry...good luck

and yea it is pretty prestigious...I think it was one of the things that got me into Stanford

surely the only group of people they accpet is not limited to orphans with high gpas etc.. I mean i'm poor and i have done alot with technology and taught myself a lot etc. etc.

who knows i guess this is one of those unpredictable situations...
we'll se what happens ! :D lol... not much to lose the app was free anyways...
