QUEST vs Gemstone

<p>I will be attending UMD next year and I was just wondering what the pros and cons are for both programs. I'm planning on being a Computer Science and Math double major and I have already been admitted into Gemstone. To me, QUEST seems more computer science-based while Gemstone is overall more prestigious. Basically, should I...</p>

<p>A) Follow through with Gemstone.
B) Keep up with Gemstone until I apply and am accepted into QUEST (how hard is it to get in?) and then do University Honors.
C) Do University Honors immediately upon entering the school and apply for QUEST in the spring.
D) Do both (literally impossible or too much work?)</p>

<p>I’ll try to give a longer post later, but my general advice to people contemplating Gemstone is to at least give it a try. You’ll never know if you like it otherwise. You can always drop out later. Also, as a member of both the QUEST and Gemstone communities, I can tell you that not only is it not impossible to do both, it’s not uncommon either. People who drop Gemstone when they enter QUEST usually do so not because of the program but because in addition to the program they also have other things that they would like to be involved with (ie: Hinman CEOs).</p>
