Questbridge and Commonapp Difference

I'm starting to apply to colleges, and I came upon Questbridge, which seems like a great method of applying, but is it essentially the same as the CommonApp? If not, does the a Questbridge finalist count as an Honor/Award on the common app?

ALSO (sorry haha), if I apply to a college in Questbridge, and get matched, does that mean it negates all other applications through the common app?

Some schools will accept the Questbridge application instead of the common application while others still require it. Yes, it can be put as an honor or award. If you are matched, then you have to withdraw any other active applications.
Here are the requirements for each school:

If you get selected as a QB Finalist, yes you can list that as an award on the CA. All schools wills see it.

The QB application has a lot more short answers and let’s you give some more in depth answers about you and your background. Most schools will still want the CA, but you should check. The admissions officer Dan from Tufts U posted in the QB forum here and said they don’t require that you also do the CA because they feel they get enough info from QB.

Matched is binding (except for 4 QB colleges). If you choose to use Match, then you must attend that school and withdraw any other applications. Do not Match unless you will be happy to attend one of the schools that you picked for your Match list. They will Match you with the highest order college you listed that also accepts you. You get up to 8 to list but you do not have to list 8. Read all the material on the QB site carefully. There is also a QB forum here but don’t take anything someone one says as truth unless it comes from QB or the colleges. There is good info and bad or guessing in there:
