So I found out earlier today that I'm a Questbridge finalist. I opted out of the National College Match and instead planned to apply through Questbridge regular decision. At this point, I'm concerned about how colleges that allow the Questbridge application to be used in lieu of the CommonApp (all of the LACs that I am applying to) treat the CommonApp, as I think that my CommonApp essays are much more refined that those I wrote for Questbridge and don't want to be put at a disadvantage if I cannot send the CommonApp as well. Does anybody know if the colleges that allow the Questbridge application in lieu of the CommonApp will accept the CommonApp as well?

You have to check each school’s requirement for regular decision. I know that for Amherst, they prefer to see your QB app instead of common app, but for most colleges (pomona, Yale, Princeton, Brown etc etc), they require common app and they won’t look at your QB app.

If colleges require Common Application, do they place great importance to Questbridge Application? I read in another forum that Stanford does not give much weight to Questbridge Application as to the Common App and its supplement.

I am quite curious because I am deciding whether or not to put financial difficulties and personal/family/health issues under the “additional information.”

I have exactly the same concern…I do want to use my commonapp…

You should call each college’s office of admissions and ask.
