Questbridge EFC?

I’m a Junior hoping to participate in the National College Match program next year.

I heard in order to be matched to a college your EFC (Estimated Family Contribution) has to be pretty close to 0.

I ran my EFC Calculator (https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/pay-for-college/paying-your-share/expected-family-contribution-calculator) on this website and I got $15 for Federal Methodology Results and $0 for Institutional Methodology Results.

I’m confused what my EFC is. I have $15 using Collegeboard’s calculator, but when I ran my NPC (Net Price Calculator) tests on private institutions, my parents had to pay $1000 and I needed to do work-study program to pay about $2000.

Is my EFC $1000 (what my parents pay to a specific institution) or $15(FM results) or $0 (IM Results)?

Woops I miscalculated my home equity.

This is what I got when I ran EFC calculator:

Federal Methodology (FM) Results
Parents’ Contribution for Student = $15
Student’s Contribution = $0
Total Estimated FM Contribution = $15

Institutional Methodology (IM) Results
Parents’ Contribution for Student =$3,517
Student’s Contribution =$2,000
Total Estimated IM Contribution =$5,517
