Questbridge History major for HYPS?

Hello, I am a current junior in need of some help. I know that chancing for any ivy league is usually unproductive, but I would really like to hear some thoughts on my strengths and weaknesses. Please chance me for QB National College Match for Yale, Princeton, Stanford(non-binding) in December. I will also apply to Harvard and the rest of the Ivy Leagues regular decision. Thank you for any help you can offer!!!

Personal Info: I am a white female, a single child raised by a single mother without contact with my father. No person in my family has attended college. My mother suffered a debilitating head injury a few years ago, and as a result of her inability to work we are on welfare and have an income of less than 15,000 (0 EFC). It might be useful to note that my mother and I were homeless during May 2015 after being evicted, and her condition has limited my ability to pursue school-based extracurricular activities. My interests include art history, history, and pre-law. I am in southern California.

A note on essays: I want my essay to be really different from other applicants, so I’m working on formulating an interesting idea to focus on but it’ll integrate my interests and my struggles for sure.

THANKS AGAIN!

I think you have a great chance!

Wow that is a challenging background and I am very impressed at your achievements. I think you have an excellent chance for the QB college match

@writer80 @“CS Wiz” iz Thank you very much! People like you make CC great

Don’t put that you’re interested in pre-law on your application. It’s a meaningless distinction. Any major is “pre-law”. Your stats looks great though, I can’t imagine a valedictorian with your ACT score and life story getting shut out of the top schools. Write a great essay and I’d say you’re likely to get at least one of HYPSC.

@danfer91 Yeah I was iffy about putting pre-law on anything, thanks for confirming my suspicion. Thanks a bunch!

you have a great chance, but if you’re applying to all of Ivies, maybe you’re doing a little too much rank-seeking. Maybe solidify your college choices and look for what you truly want from college. You’re an amazing applicant, so maybe give other people a chance?
BEST OF LUCK AND YOU’RE DESTINED FOR SUCCESS!
