QuestBridge National College Match 2015-16

@just4school Does it start off with congratulating you?

I have the same questions @SylphOfSpace

Matched with Rice! Wow I was so happy I fell off my chair when I found out!

Im assuming if Columbia knew I was matched, the other colleges would also be made aware of this. I ranked Columbia as my top, but I got the email saying they’re removing application because I matched already, but it only makes sense to assume that if Columbia has a “matched” list, so do the other schools you applied to.

I was matched with Carleton College this year after being a finalist. Living in West Virginia, I’m really nervous to suddenly move to Minnesota. Was anyone else in this thread matched with Carleton? Do any Carleton students have advice or feedback about the college?

@just4school this is the gist of it:

“Because you have submitted all required application materials, you are eligible to be considered under our Early Decision program. If interested, you must submit your request for Early Decision candidacy as soon as possible but no later than 3:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) on Thursday, December 3, 2015. To submit your request, you must first create an account on our website. Once your account has been created, you can access and submit the Early Decision request form.”

@Yomo710 I got a 34 on my ACT, but on the quest bridge application I put down the 590 Word History SAT II (yes I know, I just took it on a whim and it was an epic fail) and 740 Chemistry SAT II I got. I think these scores kind of hurt my chances. And I’m not the best writer either. Also, I bet there are a lot of people in much worse situations than I am and might’ve needed it more. A lot of the finalists that I’ve seen get matched have pretty bad circumstances.

@SylphOfSpace Congrats on getting matched! Are you going to post you stats somewhere because I’d really like to take a look?

@SylphOfSpace Congrats on Rice also! We might just meet through the Quest Network next year!!!

@Alpha101 My big hook is that I am a refugee and have a non-profit and a business. My scores aren’t good, but I just started testing and have done minimal preparation. I wish I tested last year and took it seriously.

@Yomo710 Wow that’s pretty cool.

I’m just basically low income and first gen. I’m asian too, but that doesn’t really help.

@Alpha101 Yeah, I posted in the college match results thread.

@xophiie Hopefully!

And thanks everyone. Good luck to those of you who weren’t matched, you’ll likely receive lots of financial aid anyways.

@Alpha101 Well I’m classified as white lol. Since when were Arabs considered white?!

Well I just submitted the agreement to have my application transferred to ED for Columbia. Honestly I don’t think I have much of a chance. I got rejected through the college match, so will it really make a difference if they review it through ED if they already saw my application and rejected me? I don’t think so. But it’s worth a shot.

Matched to Stanford! 1st choice…

Matched to Yale!

@Alpha101 @Yomo710 Yes, that’s the same email that I received. It doesn’t seem very personalized, so I’m guessing that it’s sent to all/most non-matched finalists.

On another note, if ED decisions come out on December 11th, is it even worth it to send updated math subject test scores (currently have 680 Math 1, might send 760 Math 2) to a business school so late? Will rush-reporting scores make it there in time for consideration?

@rlhicks2 ~ Congratulations from a MN native! I don’t know anything about the college or grounds, but Minneapolis is lovely and open-hearted. Very happy for you, and hope you get a down comforter for Christmas!

@Alpha101 ~ I send you internet hugs and a ‘buck up chucky’ pat on the back. We’ll slay it in RD! Though I would love to know what and why, wouldn’t you?

Okay so I know were automatically considered for regular decision…but do we really have to wait till April to find out our decisions when they already have our applications??

Anyone receive an email from MIT?

Hey guys so I submitted my Regular Decision form but i want to change it. I got an email saying we could change it till Wednesday and that there is an update button you can click on to change. Where is the update buttom?? I can’t find it

@abibiroschak I think so. Which upsets me. I just wanna know.
@manukev I did earlier today. It almost sounded as if everyone who ranked MIT would get the email but I’m not for sure.

Does anyone know what the QuestBridge Midyear Report is/where I would find that? Vanderbilt requires it and says the link will be available soon but Rice also requires it (or their own version) and says it has been available since September. Anyone have any idea to what this is?
