Pls post ur stats if u got in
Iām guessing Pioneer Academics decisions will also be revealed at a later date?
Hey everyone!! Happy to announce that Iām a College Prep Scholar. If someone wants to make one of those results threads to give people more info about stats, thatād be rad! Like always, remember that selective programs (?) like this will award people who may not deserve it and simultaneously pass over perfectly qualified people who do deserve it.
@memeqween101
Here are my basic stats:
4.0 GPA UW
36 ACT/1600 SAT/1500 PSAT
First-gen student, Southeast Asian
I got in! I was so worried that I wouldnāt since I got a 1290 on my first (and only as of now) SAT but my GPA was a 4.0, Iām first gen and an immigrant from Haiti.
Stats:
4.0 UW
1480 PSAT
First-gen, mixed-race Hispanic
omg i got in!!!
Just got in! Here are some of my stats:
4.0 UW GPA
1540 SAT (800 Math, 740 R/W), 1430 PSAT (740 Math, 690 R/W), 5 on APWH Exam
Not first-gen, but household income is within the range that Questbridge provides.
Southeast Asian, immigrant from the Philippines
I didnāt get in. Iām guessing it was because I didnāt take my ACT or SAT yet and I didnāt have any APsā¦ considering that my school doesnāt provide any to Sophomore year.
Hey guys! I got in!! I was really discouraged because my stats arenāt even THAT good but I put a lot of effort in my essays. Itās okay if you didnāt get in, this doesnāt define you at all.
4.13 W GPA
1230 PSAT
1300 SAT
First-gen. Low income
Immigranr parents from Guatemala
I was accepted as well. They also gave me a full ride to WUSTL Pre-Med Institute. I didnāt even expect because I wrote it the night before on an extension but Iām super excited!! let me know if anyoneās from the LA area and planning on going to the college conference in Pomona
4.0/4.4 UW/W
1540 SAT (740E, 800M)
Low Income, single parent, first gen immigrant
My sister got in! She also won a trip to Vanderbilt for the National College Admissions Conference and was nominated for an expense-paid campus visit.
3.9 UW GPA, 4.0 UW GPA in college (sheās enrolled full-time in high school and full-time at a public research university), 31 ACT, no APs/IB (school doesnāt offer AP/IB/honors courses), underfunded distant rural public school, single/disabled/retired parent, free lunch, low-income, first-generation. She has a really powerful story (sheās been through a lot) and works so hard in school/in our community so she definitely deserves this.
Side note for everyone: if you donāt end up getting the National College Match next year, thatās okay! Iām currently at an Ivy League university (Columbia) on a full-ride scholarship and I didnāt even know what QuestBridge was in high school. YOU STILL HAVE A CHANCE! Never doubt yourself.
Congratulations to everyone who was accepted!
Did everyone that got accepted receive the national college admissions conference or is it just a select group of people? I got invited to vanderbilt also btw
Same with the nomination for a campus visit^
@asanchez02 I think most (or everyone) who indicated they were interested in that ultimately got it.
@quantumegypt do you have any - general - tips to increase my ACT score? I got accepted as a CPS, but I feel like my ACT score isnāt - isnāt - a representation of the best I can do. Also, did anyone else get feedback on their essay?
Hey guys! I made a results page with the same template as from last years thread.
So if you havenāt received a Pioneer Academics email by now, does it mean you werenāt nominated?
@Abdobe Iām guessing the āWe look forward to offering you special assistance throughout the summer to strengthen your college applicationā probably has to do something with it, although Iām not sure.
I got accepted!! Congrats to the 2019 cohort! Also theres a facebook group for this years cohort, incase anyone wants to join it. (I think it was mentionaed in the email)
any info on when pioneer academics results come out? do they get sent out now or with the quest for excellence award stuff in june? also, any clue as to when the follow-up email with more info will be sent out?
@apples1439 What is the facebook group called?
@angnickelodeon Some people already received emails about pioneer academics so Iām not sure if we were nominatedā¦ Iām still looking for an answer though
