Question About Academic Probation

So I got an email saying that I was placed on academic probation for reasons I do not wish to discuss, earlier today. I used my school's GPA calculator and my GPA actually came out to be a 2.03. I double-checked too. I do not know why I was placed because I thought a student's GPA had to be lower than a solid 2.00 for probation, according to the page one would reach when one Google's ''Hunter College Academic Probation'' and clicks on the first result.

So why was I placed on probation?
2.03 is NOT a 2.00 to me....!

“I was placed on academic probation for reasons I do not wish to discuss”

Unless if I am reading wrong then this might be a critical factor. Also, a 2.03 is basically a 2.00. Academic probation might be a good thing, make you realize you need to get your stuff together.

“If your Hunter GPA falls below the established retention level (see below), you are automatically placed on academic probation”

The way I read this is that they can determine you to be on Academic probation at any time but a GPA below 2.0 makes it an automatic decision.

Are you sure you factored in the weighting for each class correctly (3 credits, 1 credit, 5 credits etc)?

Ok
& also, will my ability to get Financial Aid go back up again after I get off of probation
and improve my grades?

Yes, double check like what stradmom said. Some colleges have provided calculators that you can use. Perhaps, your college has this? Have you looked on your online student system to see what your official GPA is?

Your financial aid may or may not be reinstated depending on the terms of the aid.

Have you compared what you calculated as your GPA and what your official GPA is according to your school? The best way to get answers to your questions is to talk to an adviser (or someone in the financial aid office to answer your questions about how this will affect your aid).

Yea that’s what I meant
I used my school’s calculator and got a 2.03…
& I will call my school about this too

Was this responding to me? What was your official GPA according to your college? Not according to the school’s calculator but what was actually listed on your grades or on an online transcript. Is it possible that the academic probation is referring to the semester’s GPA and you’re calculating your cumulative GPA?
