I took the Feb ACT Test and I got high scores on my weak sections (Reading and Science) but relatively low scores on my supposed strong sections.

Here are my scores..
Comp: 33
English: 30
Math: 32
Reading: 34
Science: 34
Writing: 32 (12 Essay)

I was wondering if it's smart to retake the ACT to solely increase my scores in English and Math. I know that I won't be able to get 34's in Reading or Science, but pretty sure I can raise Eng/Math to at least a 33 or better. Is is okay to do well in Eng/Math while bombing the Reading/Science just for the sole purpose of Superscoring? If I get a lower composite my 2nd time but higher in eng/math will it count against me during apps?

are you certain that your intended college superscores? cuz most don’t superscore. and i would advise that u don’t get really REALLY bad scores on other sections, cuz then they will suspect you focused on only certain areas, which wont be good for you. but if it is a difference of less than 5 points, it should be fine i guess

@neymar11, i’d say its a really good indicator of where you are at… all the act prep books help in one way or another. i never really hardcore studied individual subjects for the act, i kinda just took a bunch of diags and then took the actual. depends on what you prefer? but answering you’re question, yes, it did help me score higher
