Question about campus visit

When you visit Harvard for an info session and tour do they take down your information? I've visited Penn, Maryland, NYU, and Bentley; all of them did. Boston Coll. did not ... anyone know for harvard?

they didn't, 2 years ago. In 2 weeks' time, I will be able to tell you what they are doing now..

K thanks... They are doing this big thing today at 1pm for prospective students in the Boston area today. Prolly won't end up going

I visited Harvard in January. They didn't take down our information, neither did Columbia.

Who tried to speak with Harvard faculty and staff? What's the difference between faculty and staff?

faculty is professors. Staff is everyone else - admissions officers :), office personnel, administrative personnel including HR, finance, IT, maintenance, etc etc - basically everyone who works for them who isn't a professor. (probably a good many more of them than there are professors!)

Thanks! So who do you prefer to talk with?

From Harvard: Schedules permitting, faculty members, directors of extracurricular activities, coaches, and other staff members are often glad to talk to students who have specific questions about our programs. It is best to write ahead directly to the appropriate person or office to arrange an appointment. Our office can help you with names, addresses, and telephone numbers.

Will it enhance any chance of me?

Depends on the questions you want to ask. If it's about admissions or housing or the social scene, don't ask the profs. If it's about classes, they're the ones to talk to.

Thanks alot

They take down no information. The info session is good if you are in the neighborhood, but the tour is not worth it.

I had a similar question

I want to visit Harvard near mid February,

I want to see the campus and the area. I know I could lie and say I have no evil intentions, but I am coming up front and saying it. Is there a way they will know I was there? So they know I am interested. Also, of I contact ahead, is there any way to meet professors or maybe even members of the admissions committee? That would be awesome.

Please tell me all or any of this will help me :)

They don't track interest nor do they factor it into admissions. They don't even take down names or anything.

I see,

Oh well

Thanks for the reply though
