If I am admitted to Stanford and get all of my expenses paid due to their <$60k income rule, what will happen to any scholarship money that I get? Will some of my Stanford money be deducted in place of the scholarship money, or will I just have that money added onto amount awarded to me by Stanford?

Enhancements for 2008-09 : Stanford University

Zero Parent Contribution for Parents with Income Below $60,000

For parents with total annual income below $60,000 and typical assets for this income range, Stanford will not expect a parent contribution toward educational costs. Students will still be expected to contribute toward their own expenses from their summer income, part-time work during the school year, and their own savings.

there will still be a student contribution, you can probably use any scholarships you get to pay YOUR contribution

You'll need to ask about that. Stanford will be providing you with grants - and some schools reduce institutional grants dollar for dollar when you get outside scholarships. I am not saying Stanford does, because I have no idea - but you should check into it.

ok thanks for telling me
