I have a 208 essay for the 150 word one and a 765 for the 500 word one?

Do you guys think it's too much? I think they are quite good, would quality be a good enough reason to keep them the way they are. I really don't see any way to shorten them.

It would have to be the best essay you've ever written in your life. They wouldn't ask you to limit your words to 500 if they didn't want it that way, and yours is over by more than 50%. Or something, I hate math. Either way, consider cutting it down.

If you're submitting the common app online, your essays will be cut to fit the requirement. You can go a little over, but 765 is, I think, too much.

I'm sending mine with 850 words, but I applied early to Penn and my regional representative that reviewed my essay said it was very creative and she really like it, so I thought that I could send it the way it is to my common app schools? and my short one is about 180 words

What more do you want? If it's super-fantabulous, send it if you feel daring. But like I said, there is a reason for word limits. I'm sure it's creative, but you're going over by 350 words, and that's stretching it. Do you really want to test an adcom's patience?

Are you sending it online, or by paper? If you feel very, very certain, send it via mail. But don't say I didn't warn you. There are a lot of very good, powerful essays that meet the limit.
