Hi,

so I'm thinking about maybe pursuing corporate law, more specifically M&A, and that type of thing, and I have a few questions:

Do you think finance or accounting would be a better degree to get as an undergrad? If the two are similar, should I just go for the one that I enjoy more, or would one help me out more significantly than the other?

I know biz majors aren't the most writing intensive majors out there, so what should I do to prepare for the LSAT? I try to read the wall street journal, the economist, etc. so do I just need to continue reading?

I keep hearing that you absolutely must go to a T14 law school, so what happens if you don't make it?

(1) Both are bad choices. Stick with something liberal arts – economics, if possible, for example.

(2) Read them, but you also want to make sure you understand them – point by point, sentence by sentence, paragraph by paragraph. Outlining them briefly in the margins might help.

if you are interested in M/A why don’t you just go be a banker? The bankers deal with the interesting parts of M/A anyway. the lawyers that deal with that stuff doing boring work/just do it for the $$ (nothing wrong with that though, brotha gotta get paid)

I don’t go to a target for investment banking so getting in would be a huge longshot. At least I still have a decent chance at a good law school and I won’t be looked down upon for admissions just because I didn’t go harvard for my undergrad.
