Question about declining a scholarship.

<p>I recently took first place in a business competition and I received a scholarship for the college that hosted it. My question is should I write a letter stating that I don't plan on attending post-secondary education there and give the scholarship to someone else, thanks, blah blah? </p>

<p>Or should I just not do anything?</p>

<p>What do you lose from writing a simple letter declining it? Isn't it obvious that you should have the courtesy to do that?</p>
