So I will be attending UD in the fall, and I was just wondering what is in your room when you move in. Obviously a bed and stuff, but is there anything like microwaves or mini-fridges. If no, should you bring that stuff? Thanks

If you want to order the microfridge or microwave from UDel you need to order it over the summer.

Much of this info is on their website: [University of Delaware Facilities Website - Residence Halls Information](http://www.facilities.udel.edu/rhalls.aspx)

You will get a mailing about the fridge/microwave rentals, or you can bring your own. When you get your roommate assignment you can figure that out.

Bed, dresser (shared), wardrobe and desk/chair. Everything else you need to bring. My daughter lucked out when she started three years ago, got into George Reed (airconditioned, large rooms) the next year she was in the new Independence Hall. My youngest was supposed to be going to UDEL in fall of 2010, went to NSO and has had a total turnaround and doesn’t want to go to UDEL. Didn’t like it. Freshman this year I hear will be in the older dorms, no ac.

You get a bed, that can be raised or lowered, a desk, a chair, and some sort of wardrobe/dresser. That last one depends on the room. If you have a closet in your room, like in the older dorms, you get a dresser as well. In the newer dorms you get a wardrobe that has two doors, that opens up and has drawers and a mirror. I think you also get an additional dresser in the new ones as well. Lights are usually in the ceiling.

Does anyone know the color of tile in the single rooms in Rodney C?

I know that Rodney F is white… and I found that online. I would go to the UDel website, search for Rodney C and you should be able to find out if it’s the same as Rodney F. Good luck with your move-in!

You really only need the AC for a couple of weeks at the start of the semester. My son’s roommate (who lives in Wilmington) brought some fans last year and they were fine. He’s in Harter Hall this year, in the upper class honors housing.
