Question about double major LSA/Ross

Can anyone give feedback on the difficulty (or not) of a Ross student doing a double major with a social science discipline in LSA? Particularly psychology, sociology, philosophy, or PPE. Does it typically take extra time beyond four years? Thank you.

You need 150 credits for a dual degree which is about 10 semesters, 9 semesters if you come in with a lot of AP/IB credits and take nearly 17/18 credits per semester.

Ross and social science disciplines are both generally easy (easier than say economics, pure math, or any type of engineering except IOE). So I wouldn’t worry so much about the course load difficulty itself.

The difficulty would come from sometimes having to take 18 credits in certain semesters to hit the 150 credits that ForeverAlone mentioned.

Doing a double major within LSA is easier—you get a single degree from a single school with two majors, and all your distribution requirements, foreign language requirements, etc. count toward that degree. But getting a BBA from Ross and a BA or BS from LSA isn’t just a double major, it’s a dual degree program because you’re getting separate degrees from two distinct degree-granting colleges within the university. That makes it more time-consuming because you’ve got to meet all the degree requirements for each degree, and there’s not that much overlap.
