Question about EC

will colleges look down upon getting a lot of EC's during junior year, while not doing much freshman or sophomore year? The things I am doing are Model UN, Science Olympiad, Peer Tutoring, and Political Groups, which are interests of mine that I didnt neccesarily have in the last years.

Basically, I'm hoping my EC's dont weigh me down. So I guess the question I'm asking is if colleges can recognize commitment even though its for a period of two years instead of all 4.

not as strong but certainly acceptable.

I think your essays will be extremely valuable. Colleges will look to see if you truly enjoy what you've done in the past year, and they want to know how you have grown and what you have learned; they won't look kindly on an application that looks like the person just bulked up the number of activities in time to apply for college.
