I received an email from the an International Student Coordinator saying that JHU is missing my transcript. Does this mean that my application was considered an international applicant? I'm not an international applicant though and I'm pretty sure I made that clear on my application.

According to the admissions site, the International coordinator also is responsible for Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee - are you from one of those states?

OK, first...I am not sure why you thought posting on CC would get you a quick answer to your question. You were sent a personal message from some one at Johns Hopkins -- why didn't you just e-mail that person back with your questions. That really confuses me. Go directly to the source and you will get the right answer.

As far as your question, my advice is to respond to the e-mail you got. I have absolutely no idea what the message you received was about, nor do I know how your application was processed. I can let you know that the "International Student Coordinator" is the member of the Operations team at Hopkins. His role is not just in the processing of international applicants ... so you shouldn't just assume because he sent you a message your application was processed as an international application. You really are reading way too much into an e-mail that just said your transcript is missing (which should be your real concern).

Lesson learned: When you get a "personal" e-mail from some one who works at Hopkins -- respond to them directly if you have follow-up questions.
