Hi all, to be considered for FinAid when applying ED, is there a place in CommonApp or the JHU supplement where one indicates the desire for FinAid or should one just send the CSS profile with the application?

Thanks

There is a section on the second page of Part I of the Hopkins Freshman Application where it asks if you will be applying for need-based aid. Similarly, the Common Application asks almost the same question regarding financial aid on the bottom of the first page.

I'm looking at the 2006-2007 Common Application I have saved on my computer and it asked the student to list the date the CSS Profile was/will be filed on. (However, I'm not sure if they included that information on the 2007-2008 Common Application.)

I would register with Common Application, print out the application, and review the documents to confirm if the information/questions have remained the same.

The JHU Supplement only asks if you are interested in applying for the Army ROTC, or if you have a family member employed by the university.

Do NOT send the CSS Profile with your admissions application!! Send your completed CSS Profile (and applicable tax documents), to the address provided on the CSS web site. Once the Profile is received, the Financial Aid Office at Hopkins will be notified.

As a helpful tip, I would suggest printing out a copy of the Common Application, the JHU Application, and the Common Application JHU Supplement materials, (in addition to any other important admissions documents) and reviewing them prior to completing the application.

Good luck! :)

Please read this web site thoroughly, and pay particular attention to the special instructions for Early Decision applicants:

Oops, I confused CSS with IDOC... I'm a bit tired. :(

It's best to review the web site Admissions_Daniel posted, it provides thorough answers to all of your questions. :)
