Question about Georgia Tech Application - Summer

The application has the following question. Does anyone know the implications of yes vs no on this? I thought that the summer start was offered to some students who were not accepted for fall but were offered the summer start. I am wondering if “no” on this reduces chances of fall admission and whether “yes” gives up on a fall start.

Thanks for any insights.

A select number of entering Georgia Tech students have the opportunity to launch their college career by taking courses, interacting with faculty, connecting with classmates, and discovering the Atlanta community each summer. Would you be interested in starting your undergraduate experience at Georgia Tech in the freshman summer semester?

Answering “yes” does not automatically give you a summer start. S19 answered yes but was offered fall admission. He still had the option to do the summer ignite program, which is a voluntary summer start if he wanted. If you answer “no” then you might limit yourself if you are one of the applicants that is on the edge of qualified. The summer only acceptance is for the students they think need a little jump start at Tech. So unless you really just can’t start in the summer or you feel your application is super strong, I would answer “yes”.

Thanks so much!
