So I applied to UIC Chemical Engineering masters program in plan to go fully for the PhD. I kind of didn't think I'd get accepted in consideration A. I'm a Chemistry major, no engineering classes, B. average GRE scores, C had to retake Clac 1 and Calc 2 (got D's both first times) , and D. took non-calc based physics, lets just say I've been a lazy student. Lets just say I had some really awesome research to back up my application. Anyways I got accepted and accepted their offer. So my question, is the transition going to kill me? Going from Chemistry to Chemical Engineering. In the long run I plan to work with drug delivery systems using nano particles.

If you are studying drug delivery systems then math, especially partial differential equation, is going to be a huge factor since the field revolve around mass transfer. I would take more math courses, and make sure you have a solid foundation in calculus before delving deeper.

My s changed his major in college half way through, from chemistry to chemical engineering. You can do it. Good luck.
