Question about grade send to colleges

I'm currently enrolled in AP Chemistry at my high school. My teacher grades the tests using the AP/SAT grading practice where there is a quater point pennalty for each wrong answer and he takes off a point for each question missed. He says this is to get us ready to take the AP exam knowing that it is more advantageous to leave some questions blank rather than guess on them. This has caused me to get C's on tests that I would have gotten a B on if he graded in the typical way.

Should I have my counselor make a note of this to colleges in the Midyear Report? I just don't think that my grade will reflect my true ability as it is much lower than I deserve, and it is the only grade of mine that is not an A.

Bump. Any opinions?

No, you have a tough teacher, everyone has one or two. All teachers teach/grade their own way, you are not allowed (shouldn’t be allowed) to make an excuse for everytime one doesn’t go your way. I had a teacher that would take 10 points off each HW (which is all of it) if we didn’t get 1 problem 100% right.

If you ask your counselor to make notes or you place your own when you send your transcripts, you sound like you’re making excuses, which you should definitely not do.

Ok thanks for your help!
