Do we get to choose language of the interview? Is it possible to interviewed in native language?

It depends on who calls you for the interview, no? It’s most likely a person living in your country, if you eventually get an interview.

I got contacted by my interviewer recently. He also lives in same country(also speaks the same native language other than English). I just wanna know if it is OK to speak in native language with him. Some colleges like to use interview as a toefl substitute. I hope yale isn’t one of them.

Thanks

The interview isn’t a toefl check. I’d assume it’ll be conducted in your native tongue.

Mine was in my native language. But it was a university professor who wasn’t an alumni, so prepare yourself! He was rude, asked me irrelevant questions and the interview was at most 15 minutes.

^Ouch, that’s odd and in general, unrepresentative of the majority of college interviews.
