hey guys! this is my first time posting... don't worry, this isn't another chances thread, i just had a question. i am going to apply ED to princeton next year, and i am debating between majoring in history or economics. i know that i will be able to pick between them while i am in college, so for right now, i was wondering which one to put on the application. now i know that majors don't really have that much effect on admissions, but still, i'm looking for any edge i can get. :)

here's the facts:
- i haven't taken economics yet, but i will be taking IB economics next year as a senior. however, i read a book about economics recently and it sounded really interesting.
- i know that there's a lot of math in economics, but i'm taking IB SL calc instead of IB HL calc, because at my school you have to take stat concurrently with HL calc which means i wouldn't be able to take economics.
- my essays will mostly focus on my love of writing (i want to minor in creative writing).
- my parents are convinced that economics will give me a greater edge because they think not as many girls apply for economics major (i'm a white female from NJ, btw)

also, i'm getting an out-of-this-world rec from one of my teachers who will have taught me in both history and economics, so either way i'm covered. so which major do you think will give me a greater edge in admissions?
