Question About Minoring in Music?

I'm a second semester Freshman and am currently undeclared. I'm musically inclined and while I already have a major pick out and lined up (Philosophy) I want to minor in Music.

My school has a pretty impressive music department and auditions are needed even to minor, but that is not a problem.

I want to understand what adding a music minor could "do" for me on terms of why we all go to college (to obtain careers that we are passionate and happy with).

What are my options after college, what paths can adding a music minor lead me down?
What avenues can it open up or enhance?

Even though I'm planning on being a philosophy major, that can always change. So it's not important that your suggestions are only geared towards the philosophy/music combo (however keep it in mind!)

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out.

none, aside from the fufilment of making music. maybe, if you practice a LOT you could persue an MM (or a few years of post college private lessons with a top player) and work towards a performance career. Music minors are for people who love music and do not necessarily want to persue it as a career, but want to play at a fairly high level and keep music in their lives through college and beyond. do it if and because you want to and love music but not to get anywhere, because there are tons of people who will be practicing more, studying more intsensely (in full time BM music programs) and not end up succeeding as a performer.
