Question about MIT application

I was skimming through the application that was just posted a couple of days ago and have a question.

In the EC section, it says to pick 5, describe them and state your role briefly, with honors or awards that you've received.

Later, there is another section for academic awards, with little check boxes saying school, state, country, etc.

There is a EC (New Jersey Science League is the specific one that I'm thinking about) that I've won state awards for. Should I just not write that as an EC and leave as a state academic award? or repeat the info? or leave it as an EC?

thanks for your help.

My opinion is put the league as the EC and the awards under the awards. In the info box just say what it is. You aren't given room to list all the awards.

yeah that's what I did with science olympiad. posted positions in EC, and awards in awards. good luck

The thing with science league is though, that there are no positions or places of leadership. So if I were to put it down under EC, the little space next to it would be blank.
