question about music recording

i know admissionsdaniel said that the admissions officers do not guarantee that they will review any supplemental material...but in the case that they do listen to it, do they listen to the whole thing or just like 30 seconds of it? how much does it play in the admissions process if it is very good? does it penalize you if it is not so good?

If we listen to your music supplement, there is no set time to how much we listen to it. It all depends on the counselor reviewing the application, the time crunch, and personal preference.

Personally, I tend to listen to a music supplement in the background while reviewing the application. If it is a none music supplement (DVD, video, slides, portfoilo, etc.), depending on quality and my interest in the material, I may send between 3-5 minutes taking a look.

Supplements play a VERY MINIMAL role in the application review process. Depending on what information it adds to the applicant's file it could impact a decision slightly positive, slightly negative, or in no way at all.
