I was wondering if anyone could tell me if an undergrad applicant can send a music recording to be reviewed by JHU's music department (Peabody).

Please let me know! thanks :)

If applying to Hopkins (Homewood) you may submit supplemental information such as a music recording. It will not be reviewed by the music department nor Peabody. All supplemental materials are reviewed by the Admissions staff and are not sent out to academic departments for review.

If applying to Peabody, then you need to check with their application policies regarding music recordings and auditions.

Dear AdmissionsDaniel,

Does that mean that the admissions officers (with or without musical training) will be evaluating the CD and giving it a rating?

Yes, that is right, aznxboy1228.

Yes, as I stated before, any music supplement sent with your application will only be reviewed by admissions staff - the majority who have no musical training. In fact, there is no guarantee that music supplements, or supplemental information in general, will be reviewed.
