Question about nyu cas!

1.) What are the easiest to get into majors from nyu cas?
Please rank them.

2.) What are the most popular majors in nyu cas?
Rank them also.

The easiest major to get accepted into CAS for is whichever one you’re most interested in. You choose your major after you’re already accepted, but writing your Why NYU essay about what you’re truly interested in learning will make you seem more passionate and help you during the admissions process.

I will choose my major after being accepted? But, why is there a choice of majors in the common app?

@Misha13 To demonstrate your interests.

These are my questions:
it’s long…

-I know that economics is one of the most popular majors in this college. What are the other popular majors in cas?

-Is psychology in cas very competitive to get into?
Are there many people who apply for this major?

-how does nyu give scholarships (what if my gpa is 3.4 and up, sat/act scores are high) can I be offered this?

-will i have a chance at steinhardt applied psychology- 3.4 and up gpa?

-I know that paul mcghee division is for working adults or those who want to go back to school, my question is, is mcghee division a bad college, I keep hearing bad reviews about it. I might check yes for this choice in the common app as my last resort.

-which college is the easiest to enter, please rate it from hardest to easiest.

Sorry for too many questions.
Thank You for those who will answer.

A few other popular majors at CAS are journalism, history and politics after digging around.

As I’ve said before, there’s no “easiest major” to get accepted into CAS with, as you’re weighted against everyone else applying to CAS, not just your major.

Steinhardt is generally easier to get into compared to CAS.

Do you even qualify for McGhee?

Hardest to Easiest (out of the most popular schools):
Tisch/Stern
CAS
Steinhardt
Gallatin/Tandon
LSP

Yes i’m eligible for the paul mcghee division
I’m 19
I stopped school for 2 years

I’m leaning towards mcghee. I think that it would be a perfect fit for me with my situation.

I’ve never read anything about the school but just looking at a few unofficial resources it looks like the quality of education and the availability of resources is sub-par compared to the rest of NYU, even though the tuition is relatively the same. I think your stats are good enough to have an ok chance at Steinhardt, so you shouldn’t just be fixated on the path of least resistance, since there are other variables to weigh besides the sheer difficulty of acceptance.

It’s not because it is easy to enter into nyu scps paul mcghee, but because I like the BS in Leadership and Management Studies with specialization in international business major that they offer. Knowing that surely I won’t get accepted to stern. I’ve been researching and thinking about these things for the past few days now on what I really want to pursue in life, I decided that business is the route that I want to take. It doesn’t matter if you’re in cas, tisch, steinhardt , stern, or scps, as long as you’re learning then you are getting an education. At the end, it depends on the person if he will succeed or not.

*it would be very hard for me to get accepted to steinhardt knowing that I am an internationl and more, a transferee, chances are so low with so many applicants out there living in the US. Just saying.

I may be a better fit at nyu scps pg because I’m also planning to work on campus while studying. So, the flexibilty of schedule is important. And also, the class size is smaller compared to other colleges which I really prefer.

By the way, do you guys know how much the average salary of on campus job is for students?

Unfortunately if you’re going to NYU for business, you’ll be overlooked by employers due to the large amount of people in Stern and CAS Econ/Math. Also, if you’re concerned about money while attending NYU, I strongly urge you not to attend, as on-campus jobs will pay very little and NYU is one of the most expensive universities in the US even after scholarships are awarded. You could easily get into a very good public school where your opportunities will be the same/greater at a much lower cost, even if you’re out of state.

Regardless, if you still have the mindset of “NYU or bust”, the requirements to get into SCPS is considerably lower than other schools, so good luck!

Some companies uses a holistic approach in hiring their employees. Not all are interested in grades or what degree you got. But yes, being in stern for business is greater than that of scps. For now, I’m interested about learning, I know that there are a different pool of teachers in this college but of course they will hire the best teachers right?. More graduates of nyu scps ends up being successful than people from other colleges. So, it really depends on the person and how he will apply what he learned.

How much is the amount paid for on campus jobs? I know it’s low but I want to know the estimated amount.

I’ve also been looking into these schools also:
-California state university long beach
-ut dallas or austin (but, the problem is location)

Well if you know what you want to do then go for it. I just hope you realize that there are cheaper options for the same path you want to take with the same opportunities and potential for success.

Campus jobs at most colleges are usually near minimum wage.

The UT schools you listed are good, but I don’t think you’ll have a shot at them out of state with your grades, unfortunately.

Is nyu scps really that bad of a college? I know that there are a lot worse than it like NYIT.

I didn’t say it’s bad; it’s just not the best you can do for yourself at your current circumstances.

I will also apply in University of Washington which I know I have a low chance of getting into.
