Which is easier to get into for undergraduate freshman?

It all depends on the major w/Steinhardt. Some majors require auditions, so I really can't tell you. I think that Steinhardt is eaiser to get into if your r

I applied to Steinhardt's communication.. I'm thinking maybe CAS's Econ would have been easier for me to get into?

Basic Stat:

Unweighted GPA 9th- 11th: 3.60 (3 AP's, 12 honors)

unweighted 12th grade: 3.90 (3 ap's, 2 honors)

SAT I: 1900+ (retook in december, hoping for a higher score)
SAT II: math 720, chinese 790,

lots of EC's, strong recs.... area focused with communication..

ex: i published an article, i taught english classes, etc..

Oh, i see your point...

haha.. you're right. NYU is NYU

Hepstar is exactly right. It's the right answer. Steinhardt has certain areas of study that aren’t given in CAS, so really it depends on your major. If your undecided apply to CAS, only apply to Steinhardt if your positive about you major (given the fact that your major IS in Steinhardt)

Oh i see..

If i'm a communications major (steinhardt) who wants to switch over to economics (cas)

how hard would it be to transfer?

You should be applying to the college that contains the major you want to study, not trying to get in whatever the easiest way is. Once you're accepted you have to stay in the college you enroll in for at least one year before applying for an internal transfer. Apply to the one you want NOW.
