I live in Illinois and I am about to graduate from my local CC in a few weeks with an AS degree. Originally I was going to go to Northern Illinois University (was accepted), but due to financial reasons I decided not to. So I did some searching online and found that Eastern Oregon University offers a fully online BS in Business Administration degree. There tuition is cheap and they don’t charge out of state fees. My question is, if I do decided to do the online degree program at Eastern Oregon University, will it hurt my changes of finding a job after graduation since it’s an out of state school that’s not really heard of (at least not in Illinois)?
Btw, I am new here and this is my first post. If I posted this in the wrong spot I am sorry.
There is no doubt that you can find an online college that will provide a reputable degree capable of giving you a good chance at finding a job. Don’t worry about that, especially if you get an online degree from an actual university, not an online-only college.
[Columbia</a> College](<a href=“http://www.goforgreater.org?utm_campaign=FRM001&utm_id=FRM001"]Columbia”>www.goforgreater.org?utm_campaign=FRM001&utm_id=FRM001), a college based in Columbia, Mo., offers online courses for only $240 with minimal fees and no out-of-state fees. You don’t have to worry about finding a job with an online degree from Columbia College. Their online program has been around for a long time, is well-known and quite respected throughout the country. For example, U.S. News & World Report named Columbia College’s online programs among the nations best and GetEducated.com designated Columbia College as a “Best Buy” for its [online</a> bachelor’s degrees in business.](<a href=“http://www.ccis.edu/online/academics/departments.asp?BusAdmin&utm_campaign=FRM001&utm_id=FRM001]online”>http://www.ccis.edu/online/academics/departments.asp?BusAdmin&utm_campaign=FRM001&utm_id=FRM001)
I’m not sure about Eastern Oregon University but at Arizona State University (where I am an online student), they do not indicate on your diploma that you were an online student. If you are concerned about future employers questioning the quality of your education, you should call Eastern Oregon University and ask them if the specify that you were an online student on your diploma.
