So, I have a question regarding classes at Clemson. I was enrolled here this semester as an architecture major, but had to withdraw for several reasons. Right now I am faced with this predicament - if I am allowed to return for the spring (hypothetically saying I do go back), I am going to be missing a 101 class that is a prerequisite for the class in the spring. Has anyone ever tried to go around these prerequisites? The class is not available again until next fall, which means I would always be a semester behind if I could not, and I am thinking about trying to take the spring class without the prerequisite, and then doubling up next fall, once again saying that I got in and everything went smoothly from there. I am hoping to get back on track and get my degree in 2015, when I am supposed to and would also like to take my travel abroad semester at the time originally planned. Any advice?

I would talk with your department head. Sometimes with the permission of the department head you can get around these prerequisites (don’t count on it though)

pierre0913 - I still have the syllabus for the class that tells me what work to do in my textbooks and everything, and still have the textbooks and have been keeping up with this in case I did go back. Would this possibly be helpful to mention to the department head in getting around these prerequisites, knowing a large portion of the information in the class? (The class in question was a lecture class that was based almost directly from the textbook)

I’m not exactly sure since I (or anyone I personally know) have ever dealt with this particular situation but I’m sure something like that might help make your case? I’m not sure what will help you or not haha
