Hello!

I have a question about recommended requirements to get in ULCA in Biology major.

Currently, I am a student at a community college in California, and preparing to transfer to

UCLA.

By this spring, I will finish all the requirements except a second semester of organic

chemistry.

According to information of requirements on the website of the department of ULCA

Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, it says, a second semester of organic chemistry or one

year of calculus-based physics is strongly recommended but not required for admission.

Eventhough it is said "not required for admission" like the above, some of other websites

say that those are "strongly recommended for competitive admssion."

I am really confused which is right.

I will complete one year of calculus-based physics with laboratory by the spring. However,

I can finish only a first semester of organic chemistry instead of completing a year of

organic chemistry.

Therefore, I am concerned about the chance that I can be accepted, since I've heard

Biology at UCLA is very popular major for many transfer applicants .

Shortly, I was wondering how missing second semester of organic chemistry will affect on

my chance to get in to ULCA biology major.

Thank you for your time.

p.s. My curruent GPA is 3.96/4.00
