<p>There will always be someone that says that something was stolen and they think it was probably by one of the people you listed. You need to trust your roommate. Afterall, if they stole it because they wanted it, where whould they hide it? Usually you can change rooms if they are stealing your stuff.</p>
<p>I doubt it would ever be your roommate. Most likely it will be random people that are walking by and notice your door is unlocked with no one there.</p>

<p>One of the first things I would do with your roommate is set up some kind of system for borrowing things. It's a lot less awkward to do it right away than it is once you start living with each other.</p>
<p>My friend's sister had a klepto roomie. She stole her emergency credit card and used it to buy tons of stuff on the internet...</p>
<p>That never happened to me, but then again I've only roomed with one person and she was a great roomie, so I'm lucky.</p>
