I'm considering applying to USC, though I have some questions about scholarships. I looked at the scholarship listings on the school website, but they were a bit too vague for me.

I was just wondering if there's any chance that I'll receive either an out-of-state tuition waiver or some scholarship?

My info:

From Nebraska (VERY underrepresented - I don't think anyone attends there!)
First generation college student
30 ACT
3.55 unweighted/3.65 weighted
Good ECs
GREAT recommendations

Interested in business/international business.

Your scores are definitely in the range for a scholarship. They are higher than my D's scores who was accepted as a Capstone Scholar with in-state tuition. Any scholarship given to out of state students comes with the huge bonus of in-state tuition. Good luck!

I wasn't sure if I'd fall in the range for a scholarship, but I hope that I can at least earn a $2,000 scholarship which will also give me the out-of-state tuition waiver!

McKissick Scholars Award

Annual Value: $2,000

Four-Year Value: $8,000

Freshman recipients of the McKissick Scholars Award generally present scores above 1250 on the SAT on critical reading and math sections combined (or ACT composite score of 28) and have excellent grades in high school. The award is worth $2,000 per year and is renewable for up to three years as long as you maintain at least a B average. No scholarship application is required. All nonresidents students receiving this scholarship receive a reduced tuition benefit as well.

I just don't like how vague it is for "excellent grades in high school".

Is it possible to get scholarships without applying to the honors college? I'm also oos. I really should have applied into it, but I never did. That was a bad choice.

Woodpost. Congrats on being accepted.Yes to your q about Honors/Scholarships. The only out of state scholarships tied to the Honors Application are the McNair and I believe the Alumni.Any scholarship above 250$ a semester gets you instate tuition rates.Remeber that you can try to get into Honors after enrollment if you choose(2nd semester freshman). They will LOVE you being from Nebraska. You know, on second tought, why not call admissions and ask them if its really to late to file the Honors app...you never know what they'll say,and they are really friendly people there..
Walt99-Be advised that International Business at USC is not a direct admit major. You follow a prescribed curriculum for freshman/soph years and apply for admittance for your junior year. Its a highly competitive admittance,as you can imagine from the top ranking nationally of the program.

I'm not so worried about enrolling in the Honors College right away, but rather getting some sort of scholarship so that I can get a tuition-waiver. I realize it's also very competitive for international business, but from what I've heard, the regular business school is also pretty good.
