Question about Spring 2012 acceptance to CUNY Queens College? HELP!

Hey guys,

I really hope someone can help me. I'm currently attending a community college and will be transferring to a 4 year school for the Spring 2012 semester. I'm earning my Associate of Arts degree at the end of December. I had previously attended CUNY Queens College from 2006-2009, but was academically dismissed due to a low GPA at the end of the Spring 2009 semester. So I was told to re-apply after one year had passed. I waited two years, earned an Associate Degree, have a GPA above 3.0 and have been on the Dean's List nearly ever semester at my CC, so I'm just so confused. I re-applied to QC and was told a decision had been made about my admission on October 20th, and that I would hear from the college within two weeks. Well, I waited two weeks, and didn't hear anything. So on November 4th I called up the QC Admissions office, and spoke to a very nice lady who confirmed I was accepted. I was so excited! She said I should receive the acceptance packet in the mail shortly.

HOWEVER, yesterday I got a letter in the mail from the QC Admissions Office. But it was not a packet, just a regular letter. It made me nervous, so I opened it. It said:

Dear (Insert My Name Here),

Thank you for your interest in Queens College at the City University of New York.

A final decision for your admission for the Spring 2012 semester will be made upon earning your Associate Degree. Once you have earned your Associate Degree, please have your current college forward a copy of your final transcript, or a letter from the Registrar indicating you have earned your Associate Degree. Once we receive this, we will then review your transcript, as well as your previous academic record at Queens College, and make a decision regarding your admission.

Once again, we thank you for your interest in our institution.

Sincerely,
(Head of Enrollment Services)

Why would the Admissions office tell me I was accepted, and then tell me they hadn't made a decision yet? Has anyone else received this from Queens College? Help me please!
