I've taken the SAT twice (1st time January, 2nd time March) and I just got back the March SAT scores. For the first one I got 740 Math 790 Reading 780 Writing, and this time I got 800 Math 700 Reading 760 Writing. At first I was happy because with superscore I would have 2370, but my dad just told me that when colleges see that I dropped so much in reading it's going to hurt me a lot. So... how bad is it that I went from 790 to 700?

Some colleges only look at your best score on each section, in which case you are fine. Otherwise, the 790-700 drop is not that great, but won’t destroy your chances. Check each college’s website for how they view SAT scores.
