i've been wanting to take a physics course for quite some time, but i've been hesitant to do so. the course description suggests physics at least at the high school level and a co-req of Calculus I. I took physics in high school but it was a general course, not alot of math, just a survey of general principles and I will be taking Calc I in the spring. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what General Physics I is like and whether or not you need to have a very strong backround in the subject matter to do well? I don't mind a challenge or hard work, but I'm afraid it will be too far beyond me.

physics I is mechanics and it's not very difficult if you know calculus and are willing to do the homework

^ agreed. Just spend some time on the class each week and you'll be fine.

as long as youre taking calc 1 at the same time as intro physics you should be fine, although you should probably know some basic integration so you wont get lost with that

Didn't use an ounce of calculus in my Physics 1 w/Calc class. Gotta love that UF.

If calc I is only a coreq and not a prereq, it should not be assumed that you know how to differerentiate or integrate ahead of time.
