I'm confused. Do we get our recs from 10th, 11th, or 12th grade? Well I know we can use 11th grade, but how do our 12th grade teachers know us well enough by October or November to fill out the eval sheet? Also, can we use a 10th grade teacher or would it be "recommended" not to?

To answer you first question, its "best" to get recs from teachers who you had (or have) in your junior and/ or senior years. Most of the people at my school have, in the past, just asked teachers they had in the 11th grade. As for myself, I have asked teachers who I have had in both the 10th and 11th grades (meaning two years in a row). In regards to 12th grade, I really haven't heard of many recs from those teachers because they really don't know anything about you before the applications are really due.
I believe most applications state (common app included) that it would be better if you used a teacher from your last two years of high school because the colleges want to see how mature you've BECOME.

Hey Emp. Thanks a lot:)
