I got the medal and i chose not to go to RPI. If i were to transfer to RPI later on, whould i still be able to get 15 grand a year from that point on?

my guess is yes, the page for transfer students on the RPI site seemed to suggest that the the medal is still valid .. but I would call the admissions office or the financial aid office to find out for sure, unless anyone else here knows firsthand..

you would be able to get the 15 a year for the rest of your college career. I was thinking of transferring to RPI after my freshman year, but I am going to cornell instead. I won the RPI medal in high school.

The letter I got today said the award is a MINIMUM of 60k. So if it transfers over, you might get even more money.

15,000 per year for 4 year programs and an additional 15,000 for the 5th year in Architecture. If you notify RPI your before starting your freshman year that you will apply as a sophmore or junior from an affiliated college such as Corning Community, you can retain the balance of your medal award. Check the college catalogue and it tells what colleges it accepts for a particular major.

LookingForward: I doubt they'd pay you for attending a different school the first 3 years ;)
