Why does Assist list Calculus 1 and 2 as "recommended" courses? I have never seen courses as "recommended" on assist before. If these courses are not taken, would one's chances of getting into the major be hurt?

wow, first time saw the same major!
yes, there were recomended courses since i looked it up in 2007.
although i dont think your chance will hurt because of that, i found out yesterday that you should finish any course if you are not able to take one of the major requirements because of no articulation.

Calculus is necessary for some of the intermediate economics courses. Econ & UGBA 100 & 101 require some calculus, while IAS 106 & 107 do not. If you are able to, take at least calculus 1 before you transfer. I was admitted for PEIS with only calc 1, but it definitely helps you to go further.
