If a person is accepted off of the waitlist at Vandy, how long does he/she have to make the decision?

I was just reading a post on another board about how Emory only gives three days to decide -- I was wondering if Vandy has the same policy?

I'm pretty sure I'd only need like two minutes to decide, but my parents, upon receiving an acceptance off of the waitlist, would immediately be looking up flights to Nashville to see it first. So I was wondering if anyone knew!

I remember for last year’s waitlist, Thom said on the VUBlog that you had seven days to tell Vandy if you will attend the school or not after you receive the admissions packet.

I don’t think level of interest should simply be saying on the waitlist card “I really want to go to Vandy.” That’s so easy to do, and it may not have the same value amongst different waitlisted kids. Essentially, don’t just tell them, do something about it.

Seven days is plenty of time. If Vanderbilt is your top school, then, if financial aid is decent, then you should take no time at all making the decision. If I get admitted off the waitlist, I would instantly give up my spot at Emory, knowing I already paid my $450 deposit.

I’m assuming we should get a waitlist update from Thom or Brad on the VUBlog in super late April or early May, stating if they are planning on going to the waitlist or not.

I agree, but my point was to let them know that if offered you would probably accept. Again true that is hard to do and there are other things you can do to show your interest. But they cant make the waitlisted kids that are offered binding like EA just because they accepted waitlisting, that would not be fair.

Hey this is just a side note. I sent in my waitlist card the day I got it and i also sent in a letter stating my interest and desire to go to Vandy still. Anyone know when we will hear next whether or not we got off the waitlist?
Thanks!
