question about withdrawing application of other colleges

Hello, I am a student who was accepted to JHU with early decision plan and I have a question about withdrawing my applications for other colleges.

I have applied four UC (University of California) schools (the deadline was 11/30) and I don't know if I should withdraw them or not.
My counselor is telling me not to withdraw them, saying 'why would you?, you're definitely going to jhu then, u don't have to care about them. Just see if u get into those UC schools'
I kinda don't want to cuz I paid several hundred dollars for application fee and I just want to see the results for the sake of money.

But, on the other hand, I can clearly see on the acceptance letter that tells me that I should withdraw all other applications. And my friends are telling me to withdraw them cuz jhu will kick me out if I don't do so.

I don't know which side to listen to...admission daniel~ I am supposed to withdraw them because of the early decision contract right?.??

Plus, I have one more question: I have sent supporting materials to some private colleges but I didn't send the application itself after I got my acceptance letter to JHu. And,,,do i just do nothing about it??. and would it be considerd as incomplete file and be in a trash can or do I have to call them to let them know that I don't plan to finish them?

Thanks!!

I have also sent supporting material to one college that I am deciding not to apply to anymore, and I don't think you have to do anything, but at least calling them letting them know would be a nice gesture. As far as withdrawing the applications, I understand that you want to see if you get into the UC's you applied to, but your best bet is to wait and see what Daniel says. I might be a nice thing to withdraw your applications, because if they admit you, and you've been already admitted ED to another college, you've just taken a spot from someone who might want to go there badly (Maybe haha).

Congrats on getting in, what were your statistics? I am applying RD...I want to go so badly.

[thread=277373]From here.[/thread]

I hate how the search function is down.

this was already talked about in another thread...and i completely simpathize w/ you...=(...but according to adm. dan. previous posts, you have to withdraw all completed apps and also contact the colleges in which you sent partial apps to...i just want to remark...although i too had really wish to first see those other acceptances/rejections lol

thanx for your answers guys...

wow, then my counselor totally lied to me-_-lolz.!.

thanx, I am starting my UC withdrawing process.

i just sent emails, it's fine; however for the schools in which you filled out your complete app...like ucb they actually asked to receive fax w/ signit, ssn, etc...
however, usc is scary...i just emailed them w/ my name and birthday and they withdrew my app w/o even asking for more info regarding my identity...O.o

edit: right now i am currently gathering the DOB and names of all my friends =D lol...
