Hey guys,
what would happen if you're harsh over the word limit? Would it REALLy be to your detriment? because my short answer (supposed to be 150 words max) right now at 352, and my 250-500 words max essay is at 821...and I've already cut a lot and just can't really tell a story with any less words. So...should I make the essay not as good but within the word limit or just leave it???

well, my rule of thumb is to never go above 750 or 700 if you can manage and never above 250 for the short one.

but i'm sure they'll be fine. people have posted that they know people who wrote 800 + essay and have gotten in. just make sure every word is valuable, but also don't compromise the whole of the essay just to fit the word count. so if you feel that you can't cut anymore without the story losing it's essence, then don't.
