Essay word limit

How strict are they with the 300 word limit? Mine's currently around 500 . . .

I've been wondering the same thing and have the same issue too.

I made mine short and sweet--295 words.

I think that more than 350 would be pushing it. I doubt they count the words, but they can definitely see the difference between a 300 word essay and a 500 word essay.

Yeah... I hit 300 exactly. I wouldn't risk going over by any... but if you would don't go over by too much though.

mine is about 350.

It usually makes it stronger to cut it down too.

Mine is around 280.
I'd say it is safe to have your words limited to 300..

yey! just submitted it! mine was 320, i don't think they will care...hopefully

Mine is currently 358 but I'm cutting it down right now. I don't want to submit it if it's over 315.

I wouldn't submit a 500 word essay because it will be really obvious to that you went over. I've heard that they sometimes use these essays to see how good you are at following directions and I'm sure you wouldn't want them to think you disregarded their word limit.

Mine was 301 words. I thought of getting rid of one word after I counted, but I figured it would look like I was being anal if they decided to count. xD

mine was 180... but it reflected everything i wanted to say so whatevas... i kinda feel worried about it now.

argh i cant seem to cut it below 470 . . .

Have someone else read it. I was able to cut out a bunch with some help from others in revisions.
